Luke Evans to Lead Netflix’s ‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’ Cast

Olivia Colman, Luke Evans and Jessie Buckley are to lead Netflix’s animated adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol from Stephen Donnelly (Lost in Oz).
Evans will play Scrooge in Scrooge: A Christmas Carol while The Lost Daughter stars Colman and Buckley are the Ghost of Christmas Past and Isabel Fezziwig respectively. Also boarding are Jonathan Pryce, who will play Jacob Marley, Johnny Flynn, who will play Bob Cratchit, Fra Fee, Giles Terera, Trevor Dion Nicholas and James Cosmo.
The animated adaptation was one of eight shows unveiled on a mega European Netflix animation slate at Annecy International Film Festival last month, which also included a follow-up to Academy Award-nominee Klaus and an adaptation of Richard Curtis’ That Christmas.Source: Deadline

Luke Evans To Star In Custody-Battle Drama ‘Our Son’

Luke Evans have been cast to star in a new project.
Luke Evans and Billy Porter will portray husbands in the upcoming drama “Our Son,” a feature film about spouses going through a divorce and fighting over the custody of their 8-year-old son.
Bill Oliver is directing the movie from a script he co-wrote with Peter Nickowitz. Additional cast members, including the actor who will play their child, have not been announced. “Our Son” is currently in the process of setting a distributor.
Fernando Loureiro and Guilherme Coelho are producing via their company, Tigresa, along with producer Eric Binns.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ Prequel Series Delayed Indefinitely at Disney+

The show starring Josh Gad and Luke Evans is on hold for scheduling and creative conflicts.
The “Beauty and the Beast” prequel TV series at Disney+ is on hold indefinitely, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The hold is said to be for creative reasons as well as scheduling issues.
Josh Gad and Luke Evans, who starred in the live-action “Beauty and the Beast” movie, are both executive producing the prequel series in addition to reprising their on-camera roles. And actually, Gad is co-showrunning the show with “Once Upon a Time” bosses Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
Other executive producers on the limited series include Liesl Tommy and legendary Disney songwriter Alan Menken. Tommy was set to direct the premiere episode of the ABC Signature series, with Glenn Slater writing the lyrics for the first episode.
Set in the iconic kingdom of “Beauty and the Beast” years before Beast and Belle’s epic romance, the prequel series was set to follow Gaston (Evans) and LeFou (Gad) as they set off with LeFou’s stepsister, Tilly (Briana Middleton), after a surprising revelation from her past comes to light, sending the unlikely trio off on an unexpected journey filled with romance, comedy and adventure, the show’s description reads. While the mysteries of the past are uncovered and the dangers of the present grow, old friends and new enemies reveal that this familiar kingdom harbors many secrets.
Earlier this week, Rita Ora was cast as “a fugitive with surprising abilities who carries with her a secret that could potentially affect an entire kingdom.” Source: The Wrap
